Engineering Manager, Sales Planning

About the role

CaptivateIQ is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the Sales Planning team. You will own a newly launched product that helps sales organizations plan quotas, territories, and capacity with high accuracy, auditability, and scale. The role sits at the intersection of product strategy, architecture, and AI‑enabled tooling.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and grow a distributed engineering team, fostering a culture of trust and high‑quality execution.
• Partner with Product, Design, and platform teams to shape roadmap, scope, and strategy for Sales Planning.
• Drive delivery of customer‑facing capabilities across quota planning, territory design, and capacity planning while balancing speed, usability, reliability, and scale.
• Coach engineers at all levels and create pathways for technical leadership.
• Set technical direction and architectural guardrails, making long‑term trade‑offs with partner teams.
• Improve team execution through better planning, operating rhythms, dependency management, and outcome measurement.

Required profile

• 8+ years of software development experience, including time as an engineer or engineering manager.
• 2+ years of engineering management experience with people management, roadmap planning, and cross‑functional execution.
• Proven experience building and scaling early‑stage or newly launched products.
• Strong product judgment and ability to work on ambiguous, high‑impact problems.
• Track record of shipping reliable customer‑facing systems.
• Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
