Engineering Manager - Core Infra

About the role

Cinder is building mission‑critical infrastructure that protects the world’s largest digital platforms from abuse and fraud. As Engineering Manager for the Core Infra team, you will lead a senior group of engineers responsible for the foundational services that power the rest of the product, ensuring they focus on the highest‑impact work and coordinate smoothly with the broader organization.

Key responsibilities

• Define clear priorities and a roadmap for the Core Infra team, translating business context into focused execution.
• Own the intake and triage process for work requests, acting as the primary liaison between Core Infra and other product, GTM, FDE, and CX teams.
• Implement processes that balance velocity and quality, driving reliable feature delivery while maintaining high operational standards.
• Coach and develop engineers, providing constructive feedback and clear growth expectations.
• Establish SLIs/SLOs, proactively address reliability and tech‑debt, and help prevent incidents.

Required profile

• 8+ years building production software, with at least 4 years managing platform engineers in a startup environment.
• Deep experience with high‑throughput, data‑intensive systems, workflow/automation engines, or AI‑powered platforms.
• Proven ability to set roadmaps, prioritize ambiguously, and drive a high‑performing engineering team.
• Technical credibility to lead architecture discussions and earn respect of senior engineers.
