Engineering Manager, Cloud Infrastructure

About the role

Replit is building an AI‑driven platform that lets anyone create software with natural language. The Cloud Infrastructure team provides the shared foundations—IaC, networking, storage, compute, and service mesh—that power Replit’s products at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Own the cloud‑platform roadmap and lead the team delivering IaC, networking, storage, compute, and service‑mesh platforms.
• Make infrastructure repeatable and self‑service by building maintained IaC interfaces for services, cells, connectivity, identities, and shared resources.
• Operate the platforms you build, ensuring availability, upgrades, isolation, recovery, and incident remediation with clear SLOs and sustainable on‑call coverage.
• Stay technically engaged: review designs, debug failures, and use AI coding tools to prototype and automate infrastructure changes.
• Build and grow a high‑ownership engineering team through coaching, performance management, and hiring.

Required profile

• Proven engineering management experience, including hiring, prioritization, and delivering through a team.
• Deep expertise in cloud platforms or distributed systems, with hands‑on knowledge of Kubernetes, networking, service identity, and stateful dependencies.
• Strong production judgment: owned migrations, incident response, and the ability to simplify complex systems.
• Ability to balance reliability, developer autonomy, engineering effort, and workload efficiency for internal customers.
