Engineering Lead, Verticalized AI

About the role

We are looking for an Engineering Lead to own Chariot’s AI core that originates cases and matches people to the claims they are owed. You will build and lead a full‑stack and ML team that powers a verticalized claims factory, enabling rapid scaling with human‑in‑the‑loop review.

Key responsibilities

• Own the agent systems that source and assemble cases, integrating human‑in‑the‑loop review to improve quality and throughput.
• Own the matching systems that connect individuals to the claims they are entitled to, respecting consent and privacy.
• Build evaluation and quality infrastructure to keep agent behavior measurable and reliable in production.
• Manage cost and performance of AI at scale as an engineering target.
• Contribute to shared platform foundations, including internal tooling, MCPs, and agent harnesses.
• Recruit, vet, and grow full‑stack and ML engineers on the team.

Required profile

• Proven experience building and shipping production software at a staff‑level technical scope.
• Track record of delivering end‑to‑end products and owning outcomes, not just code.
• Strong product instincts with a bias toward action and ability to make autonomous product decisions.
• Early‑stage (Series A or earlier) experience, comfortable hiring and leading a team from day one.
• Bonus: experience taking LLM‑based agent systems to production, including human‑in‑the‑loop review and evaluation.
