Engineering Lead, Robotics

About the role

Applied Intuition is building the digital infrastructure for physical AI and is creating a new robotics organization. As the Engineering Lead for Robotics you will shape the technical direction from day one, work hands‑on with production code and physical robots, and help grow the team.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own the end‑to‑end software architecture for humanoid robots, covering perception, planning, control and learned behaviors.
• Write production‑grade Python and C++ code and ship it to multiple robot platforms.
• Design, train, evaluate and deploy learning‑based policies for manipulation and locomotion.
• Build functional demos on hardware and validate algorithms in physics‑based simulation before deployment.
• Instrument robots, collect telemetry, analyse failure data and iterate to improve robustness.
• Develop teleoperation and data‑collection pipelines to close the sim‑to‑real gap.
• Identify and recruit the next generation of robotics engineers.

Required profile

• BS, MS or PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent hands‑on experience.
• 7 + years of robotics software development experience, with significant work on physical robots.
