Engineering Lead, Compute Platform

About the role

Reflection's Compute Platform team maintains a Kubernetes‑based, multi‑cloud compute layer that powers large‑scale AI training. As the Compute Platform Lead you will provide front‑line leadership, mentor a team of systems engineers, and stay hands‑on to ensure reliability and scalability.

Key responsibilities

• Build, mentor, and grow a high‑performing team of systems engineers.
• Provide front‑line leadership for multi‑cloud scheduling, cluster management, and next‑generation GPU deployments.
• Stay hands‑on with the technical stack to make targeted contributions.
• Prioritize work, manage projects, and guide architectural decisions for scalability and robustness.
• Collaborate with training teams on fault tolerance, node health checks, and remediation.
• Manage vendor relationships and negotiate critical deals for the compute fleet.

Required profile

• Experience building and mentoring systems or infrastructure teams, with ability to grow to ~10 members.
• Deep systems‑level engineering background focused on cluster‑wide behavior and maintenance.
• Strong coding ability and credibility with technical teams.
• Experience managing vendors and negotiating important deals.
