Engineer II, Molding

About the role

Alcon is seeking an Engineer II – Molding to join its Manufacturing Science & Technology Engineering team in Houston, TX. The role focuses on developing and evaluating new production materials, equipment, and technologies to improve quality, processes, and product outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Support molding engineering and validation activities for new and existing programs.
• Analyze injection molding parameters and drive process optimization.
• Manage quality deliverables across systems such as Kneat, Teamcenter, NCI investigations, and CAPA.
• Develop and execute validation roadmaps, ensuring timely completion of tasks and milestones.
• Troubleshoot defects, implement quality control measures, and maintain rigorous compliance.
• Improve process efficiency and cycle times.
• Collaborate with engineers to refine mold designs and enhance manufacturability.
• Lead continuous‑improvement initiatives across molding engineering and production.
• Support leadership with task tracking, project timelines, and critical outcomes.
• Create and maintain documentation using Microsoft Office tools in line with regulatory requirements.
• Use Veeva Quality Docs for procedure authoring, controlled document uploads, and Documentation Change Controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in engineering or a related field.
• Advanced knowledge of injection molding processes and equipment.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work in a regulated manufacturing environment.
• Experience with validation, quality systems, and GxP compliance.
