End User Support Specialist I

About the role

The End User Support Specialist I provides Tier 2 technical assistance to faculty, staff, students and other campus users at Texas A&M University‑Texarkana. Working under general supervision, you will ensure reliable, secure use of university technology across Windows, macOS, mobile and classroom environments.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to and resolve Service Desk tickets covering hardware, software, account access, printing, network connectivity and peripheral issues.
• Troubleshoot and repair desktops, laptops, classroom and lab computers, printers and other peripherals.
• Install, configure and deploy operating systems, applications and endpoint devices.
• Document ticket details, resolutions and knowledge‑base articles in the IT service management system.
• Escalate complex issues to senior staff or vendors when required.
• Assist with technology refresh projects and provide user training as needed.

Required profile

• Eligibility to work in the United States.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and clear communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while following established technical standards.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Windows and macOS operating systems.
• Experience supporting mobile devices (iOS/Android).
• Hardware troubleshooting and repair.
• Software installation and configuration.
• Endpoint deployment and imaging.
• Use of Service Desk ticketing systems and IT service management tools.
