EMS Support Assistant (Temporary)

About the role

The University of Arkansas at Monticello is seeking an Extra Help-EMS staff member to support the Emergency Medical Services program. This temporary, fixed‑term position provides clerical and administrative assistance to faculty, students, and the EMS Advisory Committee on the McGehee Campus.

Key responsibilities

• Process AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS provider and instructor cards, along with related paperwork.
• Maintain and process student records and clinical documentation for EMS courses.
• Evaluate and report student progress in EMS training.
• Assist instructors with departmental processes and documentation.
• Serve on the EMS Advisory Committee and contribute to program development.
• Perform additional duties assigned by the Assistant Vice Chancellor and Director of Allied Health.

Required profile

• AAS in Paramedicine or equivalent education.
• Current Arkansas Paramedic license; National Registry Paramedic certification preferred.
• Strong communication, problem‑solving, decision‑making, and organizational abilities.
• Willingness to learn online teaching requirements.
• Up‑to‑date immunization records for clinical site access (TB test, flu, MMR, Hep B, COVID‑19, etc.).

Required skills

• AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification (provider and instructor).
• Arkansas EMS Instructor card.
