Employment Coordinator

About the role

The Employment Coordinator will support the Louisiana National Guard’s Work for Warriors Louisiana (W4WLA) Employment Outreach Program. Based in Louisiana, the role focuses on connecting service members, veterans and eligible family members with meaningful, long‑term employment opportunities. The position involves regional travel, relationship building with employers and community partners, and direct career‑development assistance.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate employment outreach activities across an assigned Louisiana region.
• Develop and maintain relationships with employers, corporations, agencies, educational institutions and other employment partners.
• Conduct initial needs assessments with clients to determine appropriate employment assistance, including job placement, career counseling and transferable‑skills identification.
• Provide career‑counseling services, resume development, interview preparation and job‑search guidance.
• Identify and match qualified individuals with suitable employment opportunities.
• Support clients transitioning from military service to civilian employment.
• Travel frequently within the region and statewide; occasional out‑of‑state and overnight travel may be required.

Required profile

• Experience in employment outreach, career development or veteran services.
• Ability to travel regularly and work flexible hours, including weekend drill and training support.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Knowledge of Louisiana labor market and employer networks.
• Ability to assess client needs and deliver tailored employment assistance.
