Employee Relations Consultant

About the role

The Employee Relations Consultant provides strategic oversight and support for employee relations across a defined region and business segments. Acting as a trusted advisor, the role partners with HR Business Partners and Legal to ensure fair, consistent, and compliant workplace practices.

Key responsibilities

• Advise managers and employees on HR policies, conflict resolution, and performance management.
• Resolve moderately complex employee relations issues and document cases with clear justifications.
• Maintain case records in the Case Management system to ensure consistency and mitigate risk.
• Support internal audits, recommend corrective actions, and participate in grievance procedures.
• Collaborate with training teams to address skill gaps and promote best practices.
• Monitor and report on employee relations trends and metrics.
• Assist with HR initiatives and special projects as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related business field, or a high school diploma with 4 additional years of relevant experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in employee relations or a related HR discipline, including enforcement of state and federal labor laws.
• Solid knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and practices.
• Professional HR certification preferred (e.g., SHRM‑CP or PHR).
• Experience in retail or financial services environments is a plus.
