Emergency Room Nurse

About the role

The U.S. Army is seeking qualified Emergency Room/Trauma Nurses to provide frontline care for Soldiers, their families, and civilians in a variety of settings—from forward‑deployed units to fixed medical facilities. This position offers the chance to serve both in active duty and reserve capacities while gaining experience in combat, humanitarian, and peacetime missions.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver first‑line emergency and trauma care across the continuum of operations.
• Perform en‑route medical care, medical‑surgical nursing, and patient hold functions.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments, nursing diagnoses, planning, interventions, and evaluations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and provide independent nursing judgment.
• Participate in education, research, and consultation to promote best practices.
• Attend trainings, seminars, and conferences to maintain current clinical competencies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an ACEN, CCNE, or NLN‑accredited program.
• Current, active, unrestricted RN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Willingness to serve on active duty or in the Army Reserve.
