Emergency Management Coordinator II

About the role

The Emergency Management Coordinator II supports the development and continuous improvement of emergency management, planning, and business continuity programs across the Texas A&M University System. Working under general supervision, the coordinator provides guidance, technical assistance, and coordination to system member institutions and the System Office of Environment, Safety, and Security.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning, implementing, and enhancing emergency management programs in alignment with federal, state, and system requirements.
• Coordinate and ensure completion of triennial safety and security audits for system institutions.
• Maintain and update System Emergency Operations Plans, building emergency action plans, and related procedures.
• Monitor emerging threats, provide situational analysis, and advise ESS leadership during emergencies.
• Support business continuity and continuity of operations planning, including training and exercise programs.
• Facilitate emergency response coordination and after‑action improvement efforts.

Required profile

• Experience in emergency management, safety, or security within a large, multi‑institution environment.
• Knowledge of federal and state emergency management regulations and best practices.
• Ability to provide technical assistance and guidance to diverse stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills for threat monitoring and situational reporting.
• Effective communication and coordination capabilities.
