About the role
Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies are seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to join their joint‑venture team in Palo Alto. You will work on the foundational software stack that supports design verification of PCBAs and ECUs for next‑generation electric‑vehicle platforms, including autonomy, infotainment, and vehicle controls.
Key responsibilities
- Bring up new hardware platforms at the ECU level for infotainment systems, handling initial boot, driver integration, and system‑level debugging.
- Design, develop, and implement validation features to test ECUs against specifications.
- Extract learnings from validation activities to improve production diagnostics.
- Create and execute stress‑test suites for critical subsystems such as CPU, GPU, NPU, and multimedia components.
- Perform performance benchmarking and optimization of ECU system performance.
Required profile
- Strong background in embedded software development for automotive or similar high‑reliability domains.
- Experience with ECU platform bring‑up, driver integration, and low‑level debugging.
- Ability to design validation tests and interpret results to drive hardware and software improvements.
- Comfort working in a fast‑paced, innovative environment.
