Eligibility Specialist Supervisor - Statewide Renewal Team

About the role

The Georgia Department of Human Services is seeking an Eligibility Specialist Supervisor for its Statewide Renewal Team. In this position you will lead a team of Eligibility Specialists who determine program eligibility for senior citizens and oversee the delivery of SNAP (Food Stamps) and Adult Medicaid benefits.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision, coaching, and performance management for a unit of Eligibility Specialists.
• Analyze service effectiveness and ensure outcome measures for SNAP and Medicaid are met.
• Maintain compliance with agency policies, documentation standards, and reporting requirements.
• Develop and promote a cooperative, team‑oriented environment across units and with external partners.
• Interview, hire, train, and evaluate staff; recommend disciplinary actions when necessary.
• Lead a comprehensive customer support system for public assistance programs.

Required profile

• Proven supervisory experience in a public assistance or human services setting.
• Strong knowledge of SNAP, Adult Medicaid, and other eligibility determination processes.
• Ability to develop uniform policy interpretations and monitor quality, quantity, and timeliness of benefits.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills to assess program effectiveness.
