Eligibility Specialist Supervisor

About the role

The Georgia Department of Human Services is seeking an Eligibility Specialist Supervisor to lead a team of specialists who determine program eligibility for benefits and agency resources. This position reports to the Eligibility Services Administrator and supports the Office of Family Independence in Henry County.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision, coaching, and performance evaluation for a team of Eligibility Specialists.
• Ensure accurate eligibility determinations based on interviews and documentation.
• Develop and apply uniform policy interpretations to secure timely benefits.
• Monitor quality, quantity, and timeliness of benefits through a management system.
• Analyze service effectiveness and ensure compliance with agency policies and reporting requirements.
• Foster a cooperative, team‑oriented environment with internal units and external partners.
• Conduct hiring, training, and disciplinary actions as needed.

Required profile

• Experience supervising staff in a public‑service or human‑services setting.
• Strong analytical skills to assess program outcomes and service quality.
• Knowledge of eligibility determination processes and relevant regulations.
• Ability to develop policies, ensure compliance, and produce accurate reports.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for teamwork and stakeholder interaction.
