Eligibility Specialist Supervisor – District 5

About the role

The Georgia Department of Human Services seeks an Eligibility Specialist Supervisor for District 5. In this position you will lead a team of Eligibility Specialists who determine program eligibility for senior citizens and manage SNAP and Adult Medicaid benefits.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision and support to a team of Eligibility Specialists.
• Analyze and assess the effectiveness of services to ensure outcome measures are met.
• Ensure agency compliance with policies, documentation, and reporting requirements.
• Develop a cooperative, team‑oriented environment across units and with external partners.
• Assess staff performance, deliver ongoing training, and manage hiring, discipline, and evaluations.

Required profile

• Experience supervising staff in a public‑service or human‑services setting.
• Knowledge of SNAP (Food Stamps) and Adult Medicaid eligibility criteria.
• Ability to interpret policies uniformly and secure timely benefits for clients.
• Strong analytical skills to monitor quality, quantity, and timeliness of assistance.
