Electronics Technician III – FAA Technical Support

About the role

Parsons, the prime contractor on the FAA Technical Support Services Contract 5, is seeking an experienced Electronics Technician III to support the National Airspace System. The role involves field installation, modification, testing, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance of a variety of aviation electronic systems.

Key responsibilities

• Install, relocate, and remove electronic systems such as navigation aids, VHF/UHF communications, and surveillance equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair systems to the unit, board, or module level using standard test equipment.
• Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, interconnect drawings, and technical orders.
• Assist with site preparation, rack and cabinet installation, cable routing, termination, labeling, and functional testing.
• Configure, operate, and maintain electronic test instruments, ensuring proper calibration.
• Document maintenance logs, service tickets, test forms, and provide as‑built information.
• Follow all FAA and Parsons safety, security, and quality procedures.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Five or more years of experience with analog and digital electronics, RF and communications equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb, perform repetitive movements, and travel up to 100 % within the USA.
• Pass a federal background check and meet FAA security requirements.

Required skills

• Basic analog and digital electronics.
• Fundamentals of RF and communications equipment.
• Use of standard electronic test equipment (digital multimeter, oscilloscope, signal generator).
• Reading and interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Cable routing, termination, and labeling for coax, fiber, and copper.
