Electronics Technician – FAA Technical Support

About the role

The SCA – Electronics Technician serves as an experienced field technician supporting the Federal Aviation Administration under the TSSC‑5 contract. This position performs installation, modification, testing, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on a variety of electronic systems that support the National Airspace System.

Key responsibilities

• Install, relocate, and remove electronic systems such as navigation aids, communications, surveillance, and associated power and grounding equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair systems to the unit, board, or module level using standard test equipment (digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators).
• Support pre‑installation checks, install racks and cabinets, route and terminate coax, fiber, and copper cables, and perform system power‑up and functional testing.
• Document work activities, complete maintenance logs, service tickets, and test forms in accordance with FAA and contract requirements.
• Follow all safety, security, and quality procedures, including OSHA regulations and FAA security policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; ability to lift up to 50 lb, bend, and stand for extended periods.
• Five or more years of experience with analog and digital electronics, RF and communications equipment, and use of standard electronic test instruments.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals; follow written and verbal instructions.
• Willingness to travel up to 100 % within the United States and meet FAA security requirements.
