Electronics Technician 1

About the role

Parsons is seeking an experienced Electronics Technician to support the Federal Aviation Administration under the Technical Support Services Contract (T5). The role involves installing, modifying, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining a variety of electronic systems that keep the National Airspace System operational.

Key responsibilities

• Install, relocate, and remove navigation aids, communications, surveillance, and associated power and grounding equipment across FAA sites.
• Troubleshoot and repair systems at the unit, board, or module level using standard test equipment and fault isolation procedures.
• Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, technical orders, and job plans to perform field installations and site preparation.
• Route, terminate, label, and test coaxial, fiber, and copper cables, and assist with system power‑up, alignment, and functional testing.
• Document maintenance logs, service tickets, and test results in compliance with FAA and contract requirements.

Required profile

• High school diploma (required) with at least five years of experience in analog and digital electronics.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb, stand for extended periods, and travel up to 100 % within the United States.
• Eligibility to meet FAA security requirements and pass a federal background check.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, internet, and email.

Required skills

• Fundamentals of RF and communications equipment.
• Use of standard electronic test instruments (digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators).
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Basic analog and digital electronics knowledge.
