Electronics Assembler I – 2nd Shift

About the role

Moog’s Military Aircraft Group is seeking an Electronics Assembler I for the 2nd shift at its Elma, NY facility. The role involves building and testing high‑reliability electronic assemblies for aerospace applications while adhering to strict FAA safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble chassis, circuit cards, stand‑offs, wire harnesses, and perform soldering and crimping operations.
• Conduct inspections, Foreign Object Debris (FOD) checks, and ensure compliance with ESD procedures.
• Interpret assembly drawings, Bills of Materials, and electronic work instructions.
• Repair circuit boards, jumper wires, and perform high‑reliability soldering to meet government specifications.
• Maintain a clean work area and keep tools and equipment free of debris.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED (preferred).
• At least 1 year of manufacturing assembly experience, preferably with electronics.
• Ability to read and follow verbal, written, and computer work instructions in English.
• Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Eligibility to enroll in Moog’s FAA Drug & Alcohol Program and comply with safety‑sensitive work regulations.

Required skills

• High‑reliability soldering and crimping.
• Wire‑harness assembly and jumper‑wire installation.
• Use of hand tools, dial torque wrenches, auto‑torque drivers, digital calipers, solder iron, hot tweezers, heat gun, microscope, and high‑resolution inspection equipment.
• Knowledge of Electro‑Static Discharge (ESD) control procedures.
• Reading and interpreting assembly drawings and Bills of Materials.
