Electronic and Technology Support Technician

About the role

The Electronic and Technology Support Technician works under the direction of the Director of Building Services to install, repair, and maintain a variety of electronic equipment used throughout the district. This position ensures that all devices operate safely and efficiently according to electrical and electronic principles.

Key responsibilities

• Install, service, calibrate, fine‑tune, and test electronic machines, devices, and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair faults in electronic systems to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment status.
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety codes and standards, including NFPA 72.
• Support fire and life‑safety systems and assist with related certifications.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Four years of journey‑level experience in electronic repair.
• Completion of a state‑recognized electronics training program; an Associate Degree in Electronic Technology is desirable.
• Valid California driver’s license.
• Certification in NFPA 72, California Certified Fire/Life Safety, or NICET (to be obtained within 12 months of hire).
• First‑aid certification is desirable.
