Electrical Substation Assistant Project Manager / QA/QC / Field Engineer

About the role

Wilson Construction Company is seeking a self‑motivated Electrical Substation Assistant Project Manager to support utility substation construction projects across the Western United States. This entry‑level position blends field and office work, providing hands‑on experience in project coordination, QA/QC, and daily site operations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers and Schedulers with administrative tasks and daily status updates.
• Enter project data, prepare three‑ and five‑day look‑ahead schedules, and generate RFIs, transmittals, and submittals.
• Schedule materials, track deliveries, and support invoice approvals.
• Support the Quality Assurance program by tracking equipment, maintaining spreadsheets, and delivering paperwork.
• Provide overall project support for all departments and perform errands as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational and analytical skills.
• Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work independently or within a team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience with Microsoft Project (preferred).
• Familiarity with Primavera P6 (preferred).
