About the role
The Applied Research Laboratory for Intelligence & Security (ARLIS) at the University of Maryland seeks a research professional to advance the resilience of cyber‑physical systems that support critical infrastructure. You will conduct vulnerability modeling, testing, validation, and mitigation research that directly supports national security missions.
Key responsibilities
- Design and execute experiments to assess susceptibility and vulnerability of electrical hardware and integrated systems.
- Develop and apply validation methodologies for cyber‑physical system resilience.
- Document findings and produce technical reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, scientists, and intelligence analysts.
- Attend on‑site and off‑site meetings, and support project planning and management activities.
Required profile
- U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain an interim Secret security clearance.
- Strong analytical abilities and capacity to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Experience in technical research or project management within defense or intelligence environments (entry‑level to mid‑level).
- Willingness to work extended hours at a computer workstation.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to troubleshoot system errors.
