Electrical Field Service Technician

About the role

HavocAI is seeking an Electrical Field Service Technician to support the deployment, integration, maintenance, and sustainment of its uncrewed surface vessel (USV) fleet. This hands‑on position operates in fast‑paced field environments, requiring rapid troubleshooting of complex electrical, mechanical, and communications systems. The role is based at the Quonset, Rhode Island facility and involves extensive travel across the United States and occasional international missions.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy to customer sites, test ranges, and demonstrations to provide on‑site technical support for USVs and associated systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, communications, and integrated system issues in both controlled and field environments.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance, component replacement, repairs, and system modifications to keep vehicles operationally ready.
• Partner with engineering teams to develop immediate corrective actions and longer‑term solutions based on field findings.
• Support vehicle systems integration, including installation and configuration of electrical components, communications equipment, sensors, and other subsystems.
• Install hardware modifications, perform system upgrades, and apply software updates on deployed and production vehicles.
• Assist with sea trials, acceptance testing, demonstrations, and other vehicle test events, capturing test results and feedback.

Required profile

• Strong technical judgment and resourcefulness in dynamic, time‑sensitive field conditions.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Comfortable traveling 50–75% of the time, primarily within the United States.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, operations, and customer teams.
