About the role
Applied Materials is seeking an Electrical Engineer V to design, modify, and troubleshoot electrical assemblies and control systems that power our semiconductor and display equipment. You will work across multiple product groups, turning concepts into fully released products.
Key responsibilities
- Develop electrical schematics, layouts, and cabling for equipment, ensuring compliance with power, signal, and safety requirements.
- Perform engineering analysis, generate test reports, and create documentation for product releases.
- Coordinate procurement, assembly of components, and resolve technical issues to maintain peak performance.
Required profile
- Broad experience in electrical design, controls, and motion‑control systems.
- Ability to lead and mentor other engineers on electrical development projects.
- Strong collaboration skills across mechanical, software, and physics teams.
Required skills
- AC/DC power and signal distribution design.
- Cabling design, schematic creation, sensor integration.
- EMI/EMC mitigation techniques.
- Motor and encoder sizing, motor‑drive tuning.
- Real‑time control algorithms and mathematical modeling.
- Proficiency with MATLAB, Python, C, C++.
- Experience with Delta Tau, CGMA, CGA control hardware.
