About the role

Applied Materials is seeking an Electrical Engineer IV to support the development and introduction of advanced semiconductor equipment. The role focuses on evaluating technical requirements, collaborating with new product development, and driving supplier performance to ensure high‑quality, cost‑effective solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate technical requirements of new and existing semiconductor products and recommend materials to design engineering and global services.
• Work with New Product Development teams to ensure clear engineering drawing requirements and communicate expectations to suppliers.
• Participate in New Product Introduction, involving suppliers in specification reviews to promote design for manufacturability.
• Lead supplier selection, technical audits, performance evaluation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Drive quality problem resolution, incident management, root‑cause analysis, and systemic supplier corrective actions.
• Monitor cost drivers and supply markets to support competitive cost planning.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of semiconductor equipment products and services.
• Expertise in a specialized engineering discipline related to electrical engineering.
• Ability to interpret business challenges and recommend best practices for product, process, or service improvement.
• Leadership experience managing functional teams or projects with moderate complexity.
• Advanced problem‑solving skills using sophisticated analytical judgment.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills for influencing stakeholders.
