Electrical Engineer Co‑op (Controls & PCB) – Spring 2027

About the role

Applied Materials is a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductor and display technologies. The Display Controls Department is seeking a Spring 2027 Co‑op to support hardware design and improvements for printed circuit boards (PCBs) at its Gloucester, MA site.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with electronic and system documentation.
• Solder and de‑solder components on PCBs.
• Learn schematic capture and fundamentals of PCB design.
• Analyze problems together with senior engineers.
• Organize and maintain the electronics lab.
• Use test equipment to gather data.
• Design and test various circuits.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
• Previous experience in semiconductor processing or manufacturing is preferred.
• Demonstrated eagerness to learn and develop new technical skills.
