Electrical Engineer – 12‑Month Contract

About the role

This is a 12‑month contract position with the possibility of extension. The role is fully onsite and requires a local candidate who is willing to travel up to 10% of the time internationally to Canada and Mexico. You will work on multiple manufacturing projects, collaborating with internal teams and external contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate project feasibility, scope, schedule, and budget.
• Create scope of work, bid packages, and detailed project specifications.
• Review technical drawings, provide feedback, and negotiate changes.
• Evaluate electrical power systems, distribution, breaker sizing, amp draw, SCCR, and panel loading.
• Ensure compliance with local and national electrical and safety codes.
• Collaborate with third‑party safety compliance contractors.
• Specify and confirm electrical components for industrial equipment.
• Supervise contractors in green‑field or brown‑field environments.
• Coordinate installations with skilled trades, affiliate companies, engineers, and equipment manufacturers.
• Develop countermeasures to mitigate project delays and meet milestones.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technical Trade Certification, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
• At least 3 years of project management experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
• Experience in bid specification development and contractor negotiation.
• 2 + years experience with technical drawings and industrial power distribution/system design.
