Electrical Distribution System (EDS) Technician

About the role

Waabi, a Physical AI company behind autonomous trucks and robotaxis, is hiring an Electrical Distribution System (EDS) Technician in its Pittsburgh office. You will install, integrate and validate electrical distribution systems on autonomous truck platforms, working closely with mechanical and software teams.

Key responsibilities

• Install, integrate and validate wiring harnesses, power distribution units, fuses, relays and connectors across sensor, compute and actuation modules
• Translate power and signal requirements into robust distribution architecture with mechanical and software teams
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults, shorts and wiring issues on prototype and production vehicles
• Build, test and repair wiring harnesses to automotive-grade standards
• Support basic mechanical assembly such as sensor and actuator mounting and connector and bracket installation
• Support vehicle build, integration and test cycles so electrical systems meet reliability and safety requirements
• Read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and harness drawings
• Maintain build, test result and issue-resolution records using PLM and document control tools

Required profile

• Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical/Electronics Technology, Automotive Technology or equivalent hands-on experience
• 2+ years of experience with automotive or industrial electrical distribution systems, wiring harness build or related work
• Proficiency reading electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
• Comfortable in a fast-paced prototype/build environment with evolving requirements

Required skills

• Working knowledge of low-voltage vehicle electrical systems; 12V/24V and high-voltage automotive systems a plus
• Familiarity with NEC/NFPA 70E or equivalent electrical safety standards
• Hand tools, power tools, torque tools, crimping tools, multimeters, continuity testers and oscilloscopes
• Bonus: autonomous vehicle or automotive industry experience, sensor and compute integration, PLM tools and document revision control
