Electrical Assembly Technician

About the role

Moog is seeking an experienced Electrical Assembly Technician to join its Space and Defense Group in Phoenix, AZ. You will work on high‑reliability avionics hardware, collaborating with manufacturing and design engineers to deliver mission‑critical products.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble circuit card assemblies, top‑level avionics units, wire harnesses, and test equipment.
• Perform high‑reliability through‑hole and surface‑mount soldering, as well as crimping on complex sub‑assemblies.
• Set up and operate SMT pick‑and‑place and selective solder machines.
• Integrate circuit card assemblies into avionics units, including staking and coating operations.
• Interpret assembly drawings, BOMs, and work instructions while following ESD protocols.
• Collaborate with engineering to troubleshoot, rework, and document traceability for controlled programs.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent with formal training.
• 8+ years of hands‑on electrical assembly and soldering experience.
• Familiarity with J‑STD‑001, Space Addendum, IPC 610/620 standards, and torque/crimping tools.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and work directly from them.
• Strong interpersonal skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
