EHS Specialist

About the role

Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA) is hiring an EHS Specialist for its MMA-Environmental team. You will support clients with environmental permitting and reporting, develop and maintain environmental licenses and permits, and carry out compliance audits and technical environmental training.

Key responsibilities

• Gather data for environmental permitting and reporting requirements for clients (hazardous waste, air emissions, industrial wastewater, stormwater)
• Develop, implement and maintain environmental licenses, permits, reports and other regulatory requirements on behalf of clients
• Conduct compliance audits in complex manufacturing settings, including facility walkthrough inspections, and recommend corrective actions
• Prepare technical environmental reports and conduct training such as hazardous waste, DOT Hazmat, SPCC and stormwater training

Required profile

• Legal work authorization to work in the U.S. permanently and without sponsorship
• Bachelor of Science degree required
• Knowledge of environmental regulations such as RCRA, CERCLA, EPCRA, the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, DOT Hazardous Material Regulations and state-specific rules
• A Masters in Environmental Health & Safety or an environmental discipline is preferred
• Prior experience in EHS consulting is a plus

• Advanced MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Advanced EPA reporting software (CDX, TRI-MeWeb, WIDNR Switchboard, WI WHOPRS, MN RCRA Info, MPCA e-Services)
