EHS Manager – Maritime

About the role

The EHS Manager for Maritime operations will lead the development and scaling of Environmental, Health and Safety programs across Saronic’s shipyards and autonomous sea platforms. Working in a fast‑growing startup environment, the role combines hands‑on execution with strategic program design, ensuring regulatory compliance and a proactive safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Build, implement and continuously improve EHS policies, procedures and management systems for shipyard and vessel testing environments.
• Lead, mentor and expand a dedicated EHS team, handling hiring, onboarding, performance management and succession planning.
• Oversee day‑to‑day EHS activities including regulatory reporting, internal audits, emergency drills and inspections.
• Manage high‑risk operations such as hot work, confined spaces, work at heights, lifting and contractor safety.
• Adapt programs to new yards, test sites and vessel capabilities while balancing operational speed with risk mitigation.
• Drive a proactive, HOP‑based safety culture and support organizational change as the company scales.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading EHS functions in maritime, shipyard or heavy‑industrial settings.
• Strong people‑leadership skills with a track record of building high‑performing teams.
• Ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and implement scalable compliance solutions.
• Excellent communication and change‑management capabilities.
