EHS Compliance Engineer

About the role

Moog is seeking an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Compliance Engineer to join its Space & Defense team at the Blacksburg, VA location. The role focuses on implementing and managing EHS programs, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting site operations with safety expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of site‑specific EHS policies, procedures and audit programs.
• Conduct EHS gap assessments, prioritize findings and drive corrective actions.
• Collect, analyze and report EHS data such as chemical inventories, noise, emissions and waste streams.
• Identify hazards, perform risk assessments and recommend mitigation measures.
• Manage hazardous waste handling, hazardous materials transportation and related permitting.
• Deliver EHS training and ensure workforce compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Interpret federal, state and local regulations and translate them into practical solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, safety, chemical engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of manufacturing‑related EHS experience.
• Proven ability to write clear EHS programs and conduct effective training.
• Experience performing gap assessments and prioritizing corrective actions.
