Educational Aide – Math Tutor (Part‑time)

About the role

The Educational Aide – Math Tutor provides one‑on‑one and group support to students enrolled in math courses at Gwinnett Technical College. This part‑time, non‑benefited position works on the Lawrenceville campus and helps students master course concepts.

Key responsibilities

• Assist students in understanding and applying math concepts covered in their courses.
• Prepare oral and written reports on student progress as required.
• Perform basic administrative and clerical tasks to keep the lab running smoothly.
• Maintain attendance logs, operate computers, copiers, and other office equipment.
• Communicate schedule changes to appropriate staff and provide encouragement to learners.
• Perform other duties aligned with the mission of Gwinnett Technical College.

Required profile

• Completion of at least 6 credit hours of college‑level math courses.
• Successful interview and testing for subject competence.
• Strong oral communication and ability to explain complex math concepts.
• Capacity to work with diverse student backgrounds and coach study skills.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and prior college‑level tutoring experience with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
