Education Research Analyst (Level 1-3)

About the role
This position is based in Baton Rouge, LA, within the Office of Assessment, Accountability and Analytics of the Louisiana Department of Education. The Education Research Analyst (ERA) works on the Data Quality team to conduct advanced research, evaluation and data‑analysis projects that shape state education policy and support statewide data collection and consolidation.
Key responsibilities
- Act as a technical liaison for the Department, recommending new data‑collection methods, strategies and products.
- Provide technical consulting on data collection, cleansing approaches, procedures and policies.
- Collaborate with staff and administrators to design, test, pilot and implement statewide data collections.
- Serve as a technical consultant to various management levels on educational, financial and institutional programs.
- Extract, summarize and interpret mission‑critical data for analysis and reporting.
- Oversee and manage multiple statewide systems, support application enhancements, and ensure data accuracy after collection closes.
- Deliver training and communication to Local Education Agencies and act as the Department’s data representative.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in education, statistics, mathematics, data analytics, data management, information technology or social sciences.
- Experience with advanced data‑analysis and dashboard development.
