EDM Machinist II - 2nd Shift

About the role

Moog is seeking an experienced EDM Machinist II for its 2nd shift in Buffalo, NY. The role supports the Military Aircraft Group, producing high‑precision components for programs such as the F‑35, MQ‑25, and FLRAA. You will work in a safety‑sensitive environment where quality and reliability are paramount.

Key responsibilities

• Perform set‑ups for production and prototype parts.
• Specify electrode size and configuration and determine EDM operation sequences.
• Verify set‑ups against operation sheets and engineering drawings.
• Use inspection equipment to achieve tight tolerances.
• Train and monitor EDM operators.
• Operate multiple EDM machines and transfer work between them.
• Run the surface grinder to re‑grind electrodes.
• Establish EDM machine parameters for optimal machining rates.
• Detect and report unusual conditions such as uneven electrode wear or defective material.

Required profile

• High School diploma or GED preferred; ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• Basic math proficiency (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Minimum 3 years experience as a diversified machinist.
• Enrollment in the company’s FAA Drug & Alcohol Program as required by FAA safety‑sensitive regulations.
