EDM Machinist I – 2nd Shift

About the role

Moog is seeking an EDM Machinist I for the 2nd shift at its Buffalo, NY facility. The role supports the Military Aircraft Group, producing high‑precision components for programs such as the F‑35, MQ‑25, and FLRAA. You will work on mission‑critical parts where quality, reliability, and performance are essential.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints, process instructions, and verbal directions to fabricate components.
• Operate a Sinker or Wire EDM machine after completing the training period.
• Inspect finished work using a variety of measuring equipment.
• Collaborate with team members to solve machining‑related problems.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience as a general machinist.
• Ability to follow escalation procedures for machining issues.
• Enrollment in Moog’s FAA Drug & Alcohol Program as required by FAA safety‑sensitive regulations.

Required skills

• Operation of Sinker EDM machines.
• Operation of Wire EDM machines.
• Proficiency with measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
• Blueprint reading and interpretation.
