EDM Machinist – 3rd Shift

About the role

Moog is seeking an experienced EDM Machinist for the 3rd shift at its Buffalo, NY facility. You will produce high‑precision components for advanced aerospace and defense programs such as the F‑35, MQ‑25, and FLRAA, working in a mission‑critical environment where quality and reliability are essential.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate EDM machines for production and prototype parts.
• Specify electrode size, configure sequences, and establish machine parameters without detailed operation sheets.
• Verify set‑ups against engineering drawings and operation sheets.
• Utilize inspection equipment to achieve tight tolerances.
• Train and monitor EDM operators.
• Operate the surface grinder to re‑grind electrodes.
• Detect and report unusual conditions such as uneven electrode wear or defective material.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED preferred; ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• Minimum 4 years of diversified machining experience.
• Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Enrollment in Moog’s FAA Drug & Alcohol Program as required for safety‑sensitive work.
