About the role
The Department of Global Languages and Cultures at Texas A&M University is seeking a detail‑oriented Editorial Assistant to support the preparation and publication of scholarly materials. Working under supervision, you will assist with editing, formatting, and ensuring the accuracy of manuscripts, proposals, and departmental reports.
Key responsibilities
- Format and edit citations in book manuscripts according to the Chicago Manual of Style.
- Verify citation information in Zotero and manuscript files for accuracy.
- Assist in the preparation of scholarly books, manuscript proposals, and departmental reports.
- Maintain consistency and quality of written materials prior to publication.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Professional interaction with clients, staff, and academic personnel.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal abilities.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Zotero reference management software.
- Familiarity with the Chicago Manual of Style for citation formatting.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar office software.
