About the role
The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta is seeking motivated recent graduates to join its Economics Research Department as Economic Research Analysts for the Summer 2027 term. You will support staff economists on policy‑relevant research, data analysis, and model development that informs monetary policy and financial stability decisions.
Key responsibilities
- Assist economists in analyzing public policy issues, monetary policy, and macro‑economic trends.
- Run and maintain financial, banking, and macro‑economic forecasting models.
- Prepare briefing materials and background documents for senior leadership.
- Conduct statistical and computational analysis for both applied and theoretical research projects.
Required profile
- Strong academic record in economics, mathematics, finance, statistics, computer science, or related fields.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
- Experience with micro‑data analysis is a plus.
Required skills
- Proficiency in at least one statistical software or programming language (e.g., Stata, R, Python, SQL, Julia, Matlab).
