About the role

The Douglas Family Early Childhood Center at Sinai Akiba Academy seeks a dedicated Early Childhood Teacher to join a supportive, diverse faculty. You will work with children ages 18 months to 5 years in a warm, nurturing environment that emphasizes play‑based, inquiry‑driven learning.

Key responsibilities

• Design and facilitate play‑based, inquiry‑driven learning experiences grounded in child development research.
• Create predictable, nurturing classroom environments that support wellness, emotional regulation, independence, and belonging.
• Adapt activities and the learning environment to meet individual and group needs.
• Observe, document, and reflect on student learning to inform instruction and communicate growth.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure coherence across classrooms and contribute to shared professional practices.
• Model and teach positive social skills, emotional regulation, and conflict‑resolution techniques.
• Maintain open, respectful communication with parents/guardians about their child’s progress.
• Engage in ongoing professional learning aligned with early childhood research.

Required profile

• Experience teaching early childhood (18 months‑5 years) in a play‑based setting.
• Strong understanding of child development and best practices in early education.
• Commitment to the school’s values of community, academic excellence, kindness, ethical responsibility, soulful intention, and love for Israel.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse faculty.
