Early Childhood Development Specialist

About the role

The Early Childhood Development Specialist supports the health and development of young children within the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) system. This position works closely with clinical teams to provide developmental assessments, interventions, and family education.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct developmental screenings and assessments for children in clinical settings.
• Design and implement individualized early intervention plans.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and therapists to integrate developmental care into patient treatment.
• Provide education and counseling to families about child development milestones.
• Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with UAMS policies and regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Early Childhood Development, Child Development, or a related field.
• Relevant certification or licensure preferred.
• Experience working in a clinical or health‑care environment.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with families and multidisciplinary teams.
