Drivers Education Instructor

About the role

The State of Georgia, through Georgia Piedmont Technical College, is seeking a Drivers Education Instructor to deliver classroom and behind‑the‑wheel instruction. You will guide students through the requirements of Joshua’s Law and the Georgia Driver’s Manual, preparing them for a Class C driver’s license.

Key responsibilities

• Teach Drivers Education classes in accordance with Joshua’s Law, TADRA, and DDS guidelines.
• Coordinate and conduct practical driving sessions on the range and on public roads.
• Assess student progress and provide feedback to ensure safe driving competencies.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, performance, and compliance with state regulations.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum age of 21 years and a valid driver’s license.
• Successful completion of DDS‑provided online training and passing the Driver Training Instructor examination.
• Clear motor‑vehicle record, background check, physical examination, and a negative five‑panel drug test.

Required skills

• Strong instructional and communication abilities.
• Thorough knowledge of Joshua’s Law, the Teenage and Adult Driver Responsibility Act (TADRA), and the Georgia driver’s manual.
• Ability to safely operate a vehicle while teaching.
