Driver's Education Instructor

About the role

The State of Georgia, through Southern Regional Technical College, seeks a qualified Driver's Education Instructor to deliver classroom and behind‑the‑wheel training in accordance with Joshua’s Law and Georgia Department of Driver Services standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and deliver driver’s education curriculum, including classroom lessons and on‑road practice.
• Assess student driving skills, knowledge, and progress, providing feedback and documentation.
• Manage classroom environment and student behavior to ensure safety and optimal learning.
• Prepare and maintain teaching materials, attendance records, grades, and pass/fail reports.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to improve program quality and meet grant requirements.
• Participate in trainings, meetings, and professional development activities.

Required profile

• Ability to teach and demonstrate defensive driving, vehicle control, and road safety concepts.
• Strong organizational skills for coordinating equipment, space, and program logistics.
• Commitment to student safety and adherence to state driving regulations.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Joshua’s Law and Georgia Department of Driver Services requirements.
• Experience developing lesson outlines and instructional materials.
