Driller Helper

About the role

Harris Exploration, a division of Earth Drilling, is seeking motivated individuals to join as Driller Helpers supporting mineral exploration projects across the United States. This full‑time, permanent role offers extensive training, travel to project sites in Nevada, Arizona and California, and a structured 20‑days‑on/10‑days‑off schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with setup and takedown of drill rigs, handling drill rods, casing, core tubes and sampling components.
• Collect, label, transport and protect rock chip or core samples, ensuring sample integrity.
• Support daily rig inspections, routine maintenance, cleaning of equipment and prompt reporting of mechanical issues.
• Follow all safety protocols, wear required PPE, participate in briefings and keep the drill pad organized and hazard‑free.
• Perform physical labor such as loading, carrying and positioning heavy materials and operating hand tools under supervision.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred but not required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb and work in physically demanding conditions.
• Willingness to travel and work on‑site for extended periods.
• Reliability, teamwork, problem‑solving and initiative.
• Prior rig or drilling experience is a major asset; MSHA safety certification preferred.
