Dozer Operator (Heavy Civil Construction)

About the role

Granite Construction is seeking a skilled Dozer Operator to support heavy civil construction projects. You will operate a tractor equipped with a concave blade to grade, level, and clear terrain for roadways and building foundations.

Key responsibilities

• Fasten and detach blade attachments using clevis or wedge‑pin hitches.
• Connect hydraulic hoses, belts, and power take‑off shafts to control blade movement.
• Operate levers and pedals to raise, lower, tilt, and maneuver the dozer for precise grading.
• Drive the bulldozer in successive passes to achieve specified grades and slopes.
• Monitor engine performance and blade resistance to estimate cut depth.
• Perform routine greasing, oiling, and minor repairs on the equipment.

Required profile

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Completion of an approved apprenticeship program.
• Relevant training and hands‑on experience operating heavy equipment.
• Ability to work in dusty, dirty environments and follow safety protocols.
• Physical ability to stoop, bend, lift up to 50 lb and carry objects up to 25 lb.
