DOL Services Specialist

About the role

The Georgia Department of Labor is seeking a DOL Services Specialist to join the Augusta Career Center. This position supports job seekers and employers by delivering employment services, conducting interviews, and facilitating workshops.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct interviews with job, program, or unemployment applicants to gather necessary information.
• Use job listings to assist clients in skill building and job search techniques.
• Develop, conduct, and coordinate workshops and presentations on job readiness.
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with local employers to create opportunities.
• Evaluate applications for program eligibility and provide job counseling.
• Match client skill sets with available vacancies and refer clients to additional services such as counseling, literacy, transportation, or childcare.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED plus two years related experience, or an associate’s degree.
• Preferred: undergraduate degree, knowledge of Department of Labor rules and regulations, and experience providing reemployment or training services.
