Docketing Technician (GS-5) – Term Position

About the role

The Docketing Technician provides essential clerical and administrative support to the United States Attorney's Office. This term position (GS‑5) involves maintaining accurate case records, updating docketing systems, and producing data‑driven reports for legal and courtroom use.

Key responsibilities

• Enter and update case information in electronic docketing databases.
• Extract and compile program or statistical data upon request.
• Review reports to identify and correct data entry errors.
• Conduct routine factual research to verify and amend case records.
• Retrieve information using queries or hard‑copy reports.
• Produce tables, graphs, and charts for legal documents and presentations.
• Assist with periodic file reviews and respond to internal inquiries.

Required profile

• U.S. citizen or national; must pass pre‑employment adjudication (fingerprint, credit, tax, drug test).
• Registered for Selective Service if applicable.
• One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS‑4, including clerical/administrative support and data entry.
• Ability to meet time‑in‑grade and qualification requirements within 30 days of announcement.
