DOB Superintendent – NYC Construction

About the role

The DOB Superintendent will lead on‑site construction activities for a leading NYC general contractor, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget. This role requires close coordination with subcontractors, project managers, and city officials.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily construction operations and verify progress against plans and specifications.
• Manage subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to maintain an efficient workflow.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to guide crews.
• Utilize construction management software (e.g., ProCore) to track schedules and communicate updates.
• Enforce OSHA safety protocols and ensure compliance with DOB regulations.
• Collaborate with project managers to resolve issues and mitigate delays.
• Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and report variances.
• Conduct regular site inspections to uphold quality standards.
• Communicate with owners, senior project managers, architects, engineers, and inspectors.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent, preferably in residential affordable‑housing rehabilitation.
• Strong knowledge of construction site operations, scheduling, budgeting, and quality control.
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety procedures.
• Required licenses: DOB License, OSHA 30, SST Card.

Required skills

• Bluebeam for document review and markup.
